Good evening, and welcome to the Tidings Greeting Cards holiday party. Tidings made its fortune on one Christmas card, called Snowbound. You've probably had it in your mailbox. It goes like this. Though the snow may fall between us, and the roads be white and wide, there's a light I keep in the window till you're home and warm inside. Tonight the company is celebrating on the eleventh floor. The cocoa is flowing, the karaoke is warming up, and the founder, Barnaby Tidings, has promised big news at eleven. He never got the chance. Before the night is over, one of you will be named as his killer. You already know who you are, and what you're hiding. Everyone else knows only what you tell them.
Dinner with a motive.
Cast your friends
Choose a date and assign the eight core characters. Add up to four optional guests. Each receives a private invitation and dossier.
Set the table
Print your ballots and paper backup, check the sound, and open the game screen on a laptop or TV.
Follow the evidence
Three rounds unfold over dinner. Gus narrates, evidence films play, and private round cards open as the night advances.
Make your accusation
Write down who, how and why. Collect every ballot before the finale reveals the answer.
The whole case, ready for your table.
- A guided browser game with Gus's narration and three evidence films
- 12 character roles with designed voices, private briefings and round cards
- US Letter and A4 printable editions, with ballots and a separate solution
- Optional-role and cancellation guidance for 8 to 12 players
- Downloadable TV and Solution packs, plus a complete paper fallback
Bring these
8 to 12 adults, a laptop with sound, internet for setup and online play, a home printer and pens. Phones make private cards easy to read. A TV is optional: use AirPlay, Google Cast or HDMI if your equipment supports it.
Download the offline packs before the party. You can also play entirely from the printed packet.
Content note: a fatal peanut allergy and a 911 call. Plan a peanut-free menu.
Before you invite everyone.
Can the host play too?
Yes. The setup keeps the solution closed. Keep private briefings unread and do not open the separate Solution pack until every ballot is collected.
What happens if someone cancels?
The eight core characters must be played. Before the game, reassign a cancelled core role or remove an optional role through host setup. The hub tells you what changes. The packet also includes paper instructions. If fewer than eight can attend, find another guest or move the date.
Do guests need an account?
No. The host sends each guest their own private link. Each party has separate host, guest and game-screen links. Keep your host key private.
What if the internet drops?
Download both offline packs during preparation and keep the paper cards handy. The numbered recordings and printed instructions let you finish the evening. Keep the Solution pack closed until voting ends.
How much should I print?
The complete edition contains 35 unique pages: 17 player, 14 host and 4 solution. Print the pages needed for your cast and one ballot per guest. Choose one paper size and print single-sided at Actual size / 100%.
